Immediate Opening – Project Manager/Estimator
The position:
You will take the lead on estimates for new plan specs and design/build solar installations across the country, with scopes including demolition, site-work, foundations, structural steel, light-gauge metal, electrical, and others. You will prepare estimates from conceptual and construction documents, submit proposals, interact directly with clients, and follow your projects through construction. Your own experience building and/or estimating concrete, structural steel, or solar work will combine with Build Group's historical costs and our principals' and superintendents' expertise to strengthen long-term, profitable relationships with new and existing clients. Your tools will include SmartBidNet, On-Screen Takeoff, Timberline Estimating, and MS Excel, Word, and Project. Your skill with this software will enable you to further refine the tools currently available to you. You will be working in a casual, high-energy, team environment where intelligence, initiative, and diligence reap rewards. You will spend most of your time working in our San Francisco SOMA office, 2 blocks from the Powell Street BART station. Your responsibilities will allow you to leverage your concrete expertise and continue to advance in your construction career in a more flexible environment than field work can afford.
Required Experience:
5 years field experience as a Carpenter or Project Engineer
OR
5 years estimating experience
AND
BS in Engineering or Construction Management

- Ideally On-Screen Takeoff and Timberline Estimating experience.
