Build Group Expands Luxury Hospitality Portfolio Across the West

Award-winning hotels and destination resorts underscore the firm’s reputation for delivering premier hospitality experiences from foundation to finishes

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — April 28, 2026Build Group, Inc. is expanding its hospitality portfolio across the Western United States and Mexico, delivering luxury hotels, destination resorts, and landmark renovations for some of the industry’s most ambitious owners and developers.

With projects in major metropolitan centers, mountain resort towns, wine country, and international coastal developments, Build Group has quietly become one of the most active builders of luxury hotels across the West. From historic hotel restorations to ground-up luxury resorts and high-profile interior overhauls, the firm’s expanding portfolio showcases a wide range of hospitality expertise that few construction partners possess.

While widely known for its large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, Build Group has progressively built a reputation as a reliable partner for complex hospitality settings—where precision, craftsmanship, and execution directly influence the guest experience.

Across San Francisco, Napa, Sun Valley, Seattle, Los Angeles, Montecito, and Los Cabos, the firm’s expanding hospitality portfolio reflects a consistent focus on delivering environments where design vision and operational performance must align seamlessly.

“Hospitality projects demand an extraordinary level of precision,” said Nathan Rundel, Co-Founder and President at Build Group. “Owners and developers are creating environments where every detail matters—from structural systems and acoustics to lighting, finishes, and guest experience. Our teams understand how to build those environments while maintaining the schedule discipline and quality these projects require.”

A Growing Portfolio of Landmark Hospitality Projects

Recent and completed projects include:

  • The restoration of San Francisco’s historic Huntington Hotel, an iconic property originally built more than a century ago, thoughtfully revitalized for a new generation of guests.
  • W Hollywood and W Westwood, where Build Group delivered complete high-end interior renovations that elevate the guest experience within two of Los Angeles’ most recognizable lifestyle hospitality brands.
  • The Observatory by Viceroy Sun Valley, a luxury hotel currently under construction that will introduce a new destination to one of the country’s most celebrated mountain resort towns.

Build Group’s hospitality pipeline continues to expand with projects underway across Northern California, including a new luxury hotel on First Street in downtown Napa and Alyvia in Healdsburg, where the firm is leading preconstruction on a boutique hotel and residential development featuring 53 guest accommodations. The four-story mass timber project will include a spa and wellness center, outdoor pool and deck, destination restaurant and bar, and a curated wine program—bringing a refined, design-forward hospitality experience to one of the region’s most sought-after destinations.

Internationally, Build Group is delivering Casa Blake at Costa Palmas in Los Cabos, a luxury hospitality development along the Sea of Cortez within one of Mexico’s most ambitious coastal resort communities.

In Southern California, the firm is also delivering expansion to the Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, further reinforcing its role in shaping premier hospitality experiences in one of the West Coast’s most exclusive coastal destinations.

Additional hospitality projects are underway or in planning across multiple Western markets and resort destinations, reinforcing Build Group’s growing influence in the hospitality sector.

Craftsmanship and Technical Expertise for Complex Hospitality Environments

Hospitality construction carries a level of complexity beyond traditional commercial or residential development. Projects must align architectural vision with operational performance and guest experience—frequently within active, occupied environments—all while adhering to strict schedules driven by seasonal openings and development financing.

Build Group’s vertically integrated model—combined with its self-perform capabilities across structural concrete, framing, drywall, finishes, and specialty trades—allows the firm to maintain exceptional control over quality, schedule, and craftsmanship throughout the construction lifecycle.

“Hospitality environments are among the most complex projects we deliver,” said Andrew Clark, President, Southern California at Build Group. “Guests experience every detail of these spaces. Our teams bring the coordination, expertise, and discipline required to translate ambitious design into environments that perform seamlessly.”

Supporting the Next Generation of Travel Destinations

As hospitality brands increasingly pursue unique, design-focused destinations, Build Group continues to grow its presence across urban, resort, and international markets—helping developers craft the next generation of travel experiences.

From historic restorations and luxury interiors to ground-up resort development, the firm’s ability to deliver across the full project lifecycle—from foundation to finishes—continues to establish Build Group as a trusted partner for complex hospitality projects.
