Construction Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY
Build Group is seeking a Staff Accountant who knows construction accounting and is ready to own it. You’ll be embedded in our accounting team handling the financial operations that keep our projects moving — AP/AR, lien releases, certified payroll, and job costing. If you’ve worked in construction finance, are sharp on the details, and want to grow with a fast-moving company, we want to hear from you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and code vendor invoices accurately and on time
- Manage AP/AR and collect lien releases
- Track certified payroll and document compliance
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Uphold company policies and internal controls
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in the construction industry required
- Hands-on experience with Procore, Sage 300 CRE/Timberline, Textura, or similar construction accounting software
- Strong Excel skills and general computer proficiency
- Solid understanding of job costing and lien releases
- Effective communicator who can manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
