Build Group, Inc. Expands into Alaska

Build Group, Inc. is making its Alaska debut with the Block 41 Garage in downtown Anchorage — a 355-stall, five-story structure designed to support future housing and anchor the city’s broader Block 41 revitalization.

Build Group, Inc., a national leader in construction and design‑build delivery, is proud to announce its expansion into Alaska, marking its first project in the state — Block 41 Garage, a 5‑story, 152,022 sq ft open parking structure located in the heart of Anchorage’s Downtown Core.

Strategically aligned with the larger Block 41 redevelopment, which features mixed-use commercial tower, retail, housing, and hotel, this new garage facility complements the adjacent 601 West 5th office building developed by the same owner. Featuring 355 parking stalls, the structure provides ground‑floor and four levels of elevated parking with a structural design engineered to accommodate a future three‑story lightweight housing addition atop the garage.

Anchorage’s downtown core is undergoing a transformational resurgence. The Block 41 redevelopment, anchored by private investment and supported by municipal leaders — has already catalyzed new construction momentum downtown, positioning it as one of the largest private-sector revitalization efforts in recent memory. With investor confidence strong and the local economy emerging from stagnancy, Build Group’s timing aligns with both community needs and broader market demand.

“We’re thrilled to officially break ground in Alaska,” said Nathan Rundel, co-founder and president of Build Group, Inc. “The Block 41 Garage is more than a structure — it’s our gateway to a new region and a signal of our commitment to national scale with local care. We enter this market confident in our team and trusted by our growing client base as we continue Building It Forward across the country.”

Derrick Chang, Managing Director of Peach Holdings, the project developer, shared, “We are excited to be working with Build Group on this critical first phase of Block 41. Their reputation for high-quality, urban construction makes them a great partner to help bring our long-term vision for Anchorage to life. Block 41 is not just about revitalization — it’s about creating spaces that attract people to live, work, and invest downtown.”

Block 41 Garage represents Build Group’s first built footprint in Anchorage and lays the foundation for broader participation in Alaska’s multi-sector development pipeline—from hospitality to housing to institutional construction.

Nathan Rundel further added, “this expansion follows Build Group’s growth trajectory, which humbly began almost two decades ago and now includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana — and now, Alaska.”
