Refined restaurant build-out blending custom millwork, layered materials, and warm lighting to create an intimate dining environment inspired by Spanish hospitality.
Macarena Restaurant consisted of a 2,900 SF interior renovation of an existing restaurant space, transforming the dining environment through new architectural finishes, custom millwork, and carefully detailed material upgrades.
The project involved selective demolition of existing floor and bar finishes, wall treatments, and operable panels. New construction included panelized wood partitions, custom bar millwork, cabinetry, shelving, brass trim, and veneer paneling. Stone countertops were installed at the bar, complemented by new vinyl flooring throughout the entrance, bar, and main dining areas.
Additional improvements included metal stud framing and drywall modifications around the existing fireplace, interior and exterior painting, and installation of owner-furnished lighting fixtures and furniture. Electrical work included safe-off of existing systems and installation of new lighting and associated controls. Existing plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm, and fire protection systems were reused and integrated into the renovated space, allowing the project to maximize existing building infrastructure while delivering an elevated restaurant environment.
The project’s hospitality design received international recognition as a 2025 LIV Hospitality Design Awards winner in the Restaurant – Casual category, highlighting Macarena’s distinctive restaurant design and guest experience.
