The Garfield Pool Renovation is a Type V civic project that revitalized a community-serving aquatic facility through comprehensive upgrades to the existing pool building, construction of a new multi-use clubhouse, and associated site improvements. The project included a seismic retrofit to enhance structural resilience, ensuring the long-term safety and performance of the facility.

Scope of work encompassed hazardous material abatement, followed by installation of new architectural finishes and upgrades to pool mechanical, electrical, and circulation systems. Improvements extended to key user spaces, including locker rooms, showers, and support areas, as well as replacement of windows and targeted structural enhancements.

The addition of a new clubhouse expands the functionality of the site, providing flexible community space to support a wide range of recreational and neighborhood activities. Executed within an active public setting, the project required careful coordination to maintain accessibility and minimize disruption.

Recognized with a 2022 Preservation Design Award, the project reflects a commitment to preserving community assets while modernizing performance, safety, and user experience.
