First Light is a 696,814-square-foot, ground-up Type I high-rise multifamily residential project located in downtown Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. Build Group delivered this 50-story luxury apartment tower, representing the firm’s largest single-contract project and a major addition to the city’s urban skyline.
The project addressed the need for high-density residential housing within a constrained, high-visibility urban site near the Space Needle corridor. Build Group played a central role in executing the tower through a multi-year construction program, coordinating complex sequencing across deep foundations, vertical concrete construction, and façade installation while maintaining precision and schedule reliability in a dense downtown environment.
The building integrates a high-performance curtain wall system, VRF mechanical systems, and premium interior finishes aligned with luxury residential standards. A robust amenity program supports resident experience, including fitness, social, and shared-use spaces designed to complement high-rise urban living. The structure was constructed using deep caisson foundations and a cast-in-place concrete tower delivered through Build Group’s Pacific Structures division, providing enhanced control over schedule and quality.
