IT’SUGAR – Fisherman’s Wharf is a Type II retail project delivering an 18,807-square-foot, two-level flagship store in one of San Francisco’s most heavily trafficked tourist destinations. Build Group completed this large-format build-out for the rapidly growing confection brand, creating its largest store at the time of construction.
The project required precise coordination and disciplined schedule management to meet an aggressive opening deadline aligned with the Easter holiday retail season. Build Group partnered closely with the client to execute a fast-track construction approach while maintaining strict budget control and quality standards within a high-visibility waterfront location.
Spanning two levels above grade, the store was designed to support high customer volumes and an immersive retail experience consistent with the brand’s bold and playful identity. The scale of the project, combined with its compressed timeline, demanded proactive planning, strong subcontractor coordination, and efficient sequencing of interior improvements.
The completed flagship opened ahead of schedule, positioning IT’SUGAR to capitalize on peak seasonal traffic and reinforcing the brand’s expansion strategy in a premier San Francisco retail corridor.
