Orpheum Theatre Renovation

Orpheum Theatre Renovation is a completed Type II sport and entertainment renovation project encompassing 3,768 square feet within the historic Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco’s Mid-Market District. Build Group delivered a targeted interior transformation designed to elevate the guest experience while respecting the theatre’s iconic character.

The project centered on the reimagination of the famed Blue Room, where the existing lounge was fully removed and rebuilt as a high-end environment featuring custom millwork, premium flooring, and refined architectural finishes. Build Group carefully coordinated demolition and reconstruction within an active historic venue, ensuring quality execution while meeting a critical opening deadline.

Additional scope included the addition of two new bars and a VIP Ambassador Lounge, along with other selective refurbishments throughout the space to enhance functionality and guest flow. Owner-furnished, contractor-installed FF&E was integrated seamlessly to align with the theatre’s brand and hospitality standards.

Completed in December 2022, the renovation was delivered in time for the scheduled opening of a major musical. The finished space enhances the Orpheum Theatre’s premium offerings while reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of San Francisco’s performing arts and entertainment scene.
