UCHI West Hollywood

Uchi LA is a 4,987 SF restaurant tenant improvement located within a mixed-use building in West Hollywood. Build Group delivered Hai Hospitality’s sixth restaurant concept, featuring a single-level interior build-out and a 606 SF outdoor dining patio.

The project transformed raw retail space into a high-end dining destination accommodating approximately 180 guests. A significant component of the build-out involved the integration of custom millwork featuring locally sourced live-edge wood slabs and specialized lighting systems, which together comprised more than 40% of the construction effort. The scope also included full MEP systems, storefront installation, chef’s kitchen equipment, and refined interior finishes.

The restaurant program includes a sushi bar, chef’s kitchen, back-of-house service and storage areas, gender-neutral restrooms, and an outdoor patio that extends the dining experience. Detailed craftsmanship, natural materials, and carefully integrated lighting contribute to the restaurant’s distinctive atmosphere while bringing Austin-based Hai Hospitality’s culinary concept to the West Hollywood dining scene.

The project’s design has received multiple industry honors, including recognition at the 54th Annual Los Angeles Architectural Awards, a 2024 Los Angeles Business Council Award, and a 2024 AIA Architectural Award, highlighting the restaurant’s distinctive architectural and hospitality design.
