Uchi LA is a restaurant tenant improvement project located within the 9001 Santa Monica Boulevard mixed-use building in West Hollywood. Build Group served as Construction Manager for this 4,987-square-foot build-out, delivering Hai Hospitality’s sixth restaurant concept with a single level above grade and a 606-square-foot outdoor dining patio.

The project transformed raw retail space into a high-end dining destination capable of accommodating 180 guests. Build Group coordinated the complex integration of custom millwork featuring locally sourced live-edge wood slabs and specialized lighting systems, which together comprised over 40% of the construction effort. The scope required precise execution across full MEP systems, storefront installation, chef’s kitchen equipment, and refined interior finishes.

Uchi LA’s program includes a sushi bar, chef’s kitchen, back-of-house service and storage areas, gender-neutral restrooms, and an inviting outdoor patio that extends the dining experience. The restaurant opened in November 2023, bringing Austin-based Hai Hospitality’s signature culinary concept to the West Hollywood dining scene and enhancing the building’s ground-floor retail activation.
