Volta is a Type I restaurant tenant improvement located within the Westfield San Francisco Centre on Mission Street. Build Group renovates and builds out this 7,773-square-foot modern brasserie, adding 140 square feet to the existing footprint at the valet vestibule to create a two-story dining experience.
The project reimagines an existing restaurant space into a contemporary dining destination that capitalizes on Mission Street’s pedestrian energy and natural light. A custom cast concrete bar anchors the design, while low glass and metal partitions define distinct zones between the bar area and main dining room. Large windows flood both the dining room and open kitchen with daylight, creating visual connections to the street that activate the restaurant’s presence within the retail center.
The modern material palette blends glass, metal, and blonde wood finishes to establish a refined yet approachable atmosphere. Counter seating, dining tables, and accessible accommodations ensure flexible service for varied dining occasions. Owner-furnished elements including FF&E and light fixtures integrate with Build Group’s scope to complete the vision. Volta opened in December 2015, enhancing Westfield’s culinary offerings with a distinctive brasserie concept.
